This ancient transverse/side-blown flute has the power to take a person back in time as a bystander. The person transported will not be able to change anything in the past but will only be able to observe. Although, there is a certain melody that one should play to unleash its real power. There are two different melodies that you have to play correctly:

「秘話の歌」 or “ The Song of a Story Untold”

This is one of the two melodies you can play with Kumiko. This melody brings you back to a certain event in ancient times when the world was made. The event was said to be a memory of the Goddess Akari which she held precious and decided to keep.

「世界から約束秘密」or "The Secret That The World Has Promised”

This melody has the power to reset the world back to when time began. This will basically wipe out everything in the current time and make it cease to exist, returning to the world’s creation.

However, playing the wrong melody will have its consequences. You will have two attempts in playing any melody but on your third attempt, you will be cursed by it.

The curse’s effect will cause the one who played it to be gradually forgotten. Just like the Goddess Kagami, they will be forgotten and eventually cease to exist.
